Summit Receives Supplier Excellence Award from Eaton
Summit Receives Award for Second Year in a Row, Recognizes
Top 0.05% of Eaton’s Supply Base

Summit Energy, a pioneering provider of energy management services
for business and industry, is proud to announce that for the second
year in a row it has received the Supplier Excellence Award from diversified
industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation. The Supplier Excellence
Award Presentation Event will take place on Wednesday, March 28, at
downtown Cleveland’s Renaissance Hotel. Winners of Eaton’s
Supplier Excellence Award belong to an elite group that represents
the top 0.05% of Eaton ’s supply base.
With this award, Eaton recognizes Summit Energy for their work related
to energy management services. For over a decade, the company has
provided Eaton with energy management services, including tariff analysis,
strategic sourcing and price risk management in North America. Recently,
the relationship between the two companies has grown to include facilities
under management in Europe.
Richard B. Jacobs, Eaton’s Vice President of Supply Chain Management,
said, “The award winners are those who provide exceptional value
to Eaton across a number of dimensions including quality, productivity,
innovation and technological advancements. These suppliers are the
best among the thousands in our global supply base, and we are pleased
to recognize them for their contributions to our business. ”
The award winners fall within one of three supplier categories: Direct,
Indirect, or Logistics. Direct Materials suppliers are those which
provide goods used directly in the making of products (i.e., bearings,
gaskets, seals, castings); Indirect Materials and Services suppliers
provide goods used to make products or support the business (i.e.,
cutting fluid, maintenance repair, office supplies); and Logistics
suppliers handle the transportation of goods inbound from the supplier
and outbound to customers, as well as indirect package transportation.
Steve Wilhite, CEO of Summit Energy, said, “We are honored
to have been named one of Eaton Corporation’s top suppliers
for two years in a row. This distinction is significant to us because
it means that we are performing at a high level for our client, and
that is what we care about the most. Our entire staff is committed
to excellence, and it means a lot to be recognized for our efforts.
Summit values the ongoing relationship with Eaton and will continue
to provide the quality of service that they have come to expect. ”
