Gas Futures Settle 1.9% Lower

Natural-gas futures ended slightly lower after weather forecasters issued milder temperature projections that suggested heating demand could ease next week. Weather forecasts should continue to occupy traders' attention until the next government inventory survey reveals more about current natural-gas stockpiles, said Matt Smith, an analyst with Summit Energy.
