OIL FUTURES: Crude Eases Ahead of Inventory Survey

Oil futures slipped Wednesday after an industry survey showed an unexpected jump in U.S. crude stockpiles, implying weaker oil demand in the world's biggest consumer. "Any expectation [West Texas Intermediate] crude had for a large draw to weekly inventories today was quickly unwound by last night's API report," said Matt Smith, analyst at Summit Energy in Louisville, Ky., in a research note.
