Summit Receives Supplier Excellence Award from Eaton
Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation honored 42 of its best suppliers at its first Supplier Awards Program on March 29 at the downtown Cleveland Marriott.
Among the award winners was Summit Energy, who received recognition from Eaton for their work related to energy management services. For over a decade, the company has provided Eaton with energy management services, including tariff analysis, strategic sourcing and price risk management.
Richard B. Jacobs, Eaton’s Vice President of Supply Chain Management, said, “All 42 winners provided exceptional value to Eaton across a number of dimensions including quality, productivity, innovation and technological advancements.”
The award winners fall within one of three supplier categories: Direct, Indirect or Logistics. Direct Materials suppliers are those which provide goods used directly in the making of products (i.e., bearings, gaskets, seals, castings); Indirect Materials and Services suppliers provide goods used to make products or support the business (i.e., cutting fluid, maintenance repair, office supplies) and Logistics suppliers handle the transportation of goods inbound from the supplier and outbound to customers, as well as indirect package transportation.
“These suppliers are the best among the thousands in our global supply base”, Jacobs continued. “We are pleased to recognize them for their contributions to our business.”
Jim Headlee, CEO of Summit Energy, stated “We are honored to have been named one of Eaton Corporation’s top suppliers; it means a tremendous amount to our staff to be recognized in this fashion. We look forward to our ongoing relationship with the great people at Eaton.”
