Summit Energy Recognized for Climate Registered Status
Summit Energy, a global energy management and sustainability services firm, will be honored today for achieving Climate Registered status. Climate Registered status is awarded to members of The Climate Registry that measure their greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) according to the Registry’s rigorous voluntary reporting program.
The Climate Registry is a non-profit organization that operates the only carbon footprint registry in North America. “Becoming Climate Registered isn't easy,” said Diane Wittenberg, Executive Director of The Climate Registry. Wittenberg added, “These organizations have measured their GHG footprints with accuracy and transparency. No greenwashing here; that's real environmental leadership.”
Summit Energy will be recognized for its status as Climate Registered today in Chicago, Illinois at The Climate Registry’s Annual Climate Policy Forum. At this forum, Summit Energy’s Director of Sustainability, John Hoekstra, will discuss best practices for preparing for and thriving in a new carbon economy. Mr. Hoekstra will delve into the benefits of developing a sustainability strategy to guide carbon reporting and carbon footprint reduction programs.
